Book Wars a weekly feature hosted between two book review blogs – A Life Bound By BooksMuch Loved Books!

It’s a fact that book lovers know all about the covers of the books they covet. Often when a title is released here in the UK, it’s sometimes vastly different across the pond in the US.  So, Michelle from Much Loved Books and I have come together to create Book Wars to talk about the difference in covers when it comes to the US vs. UK versions.

We hope from time to time authors will chime in with their thoughts as well. We welcome everyone to comment and share their thoughts too! The more the merrier!

Before we get to this weeks Book Wars, we have a winner to announce. The Book Wars winner for Allegiant by Veronica Roth is... the US COVER!!!!!! Thank you to everyone who voted for both books, and for picking a winner.

Also, there's a poll at the bottom of the post that we'd love to hear your input for the two covers! Tell us which one YOU love the most.

Synopsis: “Danger, dread, mystery, and romance” (Booklist) continue in the second book of The Pledge trilogy, as Charlie’s reign is under siege from the most unusual of enemies.

At the luminous conclusion of The Pledge, Charlaina defeated the tyrant Sabara and took her place as Queen of Ludania. But Charlie knows that Sabara has not disappeared: The evil queen’s Essence is fused to Charlie’s psyche, ready to arise at the first sign of weakness.

Charlie is not weak, but she’s being pushed to the brink. In addition to suppressing the ever-present influence of Sabara, she’s busy being queen—and battling a growing resistance determined to return Ludania to its discriminatory caste system. Charlie wants to be the same girl Max loves, who Brook trusts, but she’s Your Majesty now, and she feels torn in two.

As Charlie journeys to an annual summit to meet with leaders of nearby Queendoms—an event where her ability to understand all languages will be the utmost asset—she is faced with the ultimate betrayal. And the only person she can turn to for help is the evil soul residing within.

Let the Wars Begin: Its now time to make our decision, let's see what we think about the covers and pick our favorite cover.

Lisa This week is a bit easier for me to choose. BUT first, I'll talk a bit about the covers. They both have amazing colors and a lot to offer in the looks department. The US cover feels more like a high fashion show runway model that's about to take the stage or is ready for a magazine spread. And then the UK cover has a bit warmer feel to it with colors and then the filigree adds something pretty special to it.

I'm looking forward to seeing the UK cover in person because it without a doubt wins for me this week. I can't stop looking at it.

So, I've picked the UK cover, what's YOUR choice for the favorite this week? Vote below!
Michelle Wow, both of these books have amazing covers. The colouring really makes you stop and take another look at these. I love how vibrant and bold they look. I do like the USA version and I think if I didn't own the UK one it would be a much harder choice. However my vote this week goes to UK, I own a copy of this book and the pictures do not do it justice, the book is even more spectacular in real life. Take a look and see what I thought about this book with my review here.

  1. I voted US because I like they used the same model for all 3 and the UK cover doesn't really make sense for what the book is about.
