Synopsis: When your best friend is just a tiny bit psychotic, you should never actually believe him when he says, "Trust me. This is gonna be awesome."

Of course, you probably wouldn't believe a voodoo doll could work either. Or that it could cause someone's leg to blow clean off with one quick prick. But I've seen it. It can happen.

And when there's suddenly a doll of YOU floating around out there—a doll that could be snatched by a Rottweiler and torn to shreds, or a gang of thugs ready to torch it, or any random family of cannibals (really, do you need the danger here spelled out for you?)—well, you know that's just gonna be a really bad day ...

Review: 4 stars - Jeff Strands A Bad Day for Voodoo is in a few words – hilarious, wacky and seriously unbelievable! Yet, once you start it’s like one of those things that you just CANT look away from.

When I was first asked to take part in this blog tour, I hadn’t heard about the book. After I looked it up, I figured that I’d give it a try. I said, sign me up. There was never a doubt in my mind after those first few pages that the rest of the book would have me utterly engrossed. And it did! I was shocked more than once, I loved the writing, the characters and the story of the crazy best friend who went a bit out of his mind and led them all on one of the most insane nights of their lives.

I seriously had NO idea what was about to happen next, nor did I ever imagine some of the situations that Strand would put his characters in. There were a few shocking moments and even more laugh out loud moments as I followed along as our main character Tyler deals with everything that’s thrown at him on his night from hell.

The way that the story is written was extremely entertaining. I loved how Strand had written this more as if you were watching a tv show or movie with the main protagonist telling you his story. He’s the narrator taking you along for this seriously whack-a-do wild ride.

The events that unfold all start with Tyler’s unfortunate best friend getting a voodoo doll to get some revenge on a mean teacher. Well… what I didn’t picture happening and I think I was shocked just as much as the characters were was that when they used the doll and poked the teachers leg, well it all kind of goes horribly wrong at this point in this story when the unimaginable thing happens. The teachers leg pretty much comes off in the middle of class.

Yep, that’s not the worst that’s going to happen for Tyler during the rest of his day. You have to feel sorry for the guy, but at the same time it’s just way too crazy for words!

All in all, I seriously had a great time reading this book. It’s funny with a bit of horror tossed in. I really enjoyed reading this one and was glad that I did. It’s a nutty story with some nutty characters and I defiantly think anyone who’s looking for something completely different will more than devour this title in one sitting.

JEFF STRAND is a three-time nominee for the Bram Stoker Award, lives in Tampa, Florida, and doesn’t believe in voodoo.  But he thinks you should carry a doll around, go up to people you don’t like, and chuckle while you jab at it with pins, just to make them squirm.  Poke around his gleefully macabre website.
